Digital technology has expanded and transformed the dating world through the various websites and applications that can now introduce you to your “perfect other”.
However, as with many human advances the risks that accompany such technologies do not become obvious until sometime afterwards. With the ABC Australian Story's new season kicking off with the tale of 2 Australian women ending up in jail after being connected to drug smuggling after meeting their seemingly 'ideal mate' on-line, and with men being increasingly fleeced out of large sums of money this adds a whole other dimension to the world of dating. This online fraud, alongside the usual challenge of finding a mate who can match your intentions, has meant that online dating has become somewhat even more fraught.
This interactive workshop will enable you to understand not only the risks of online dating and how to manage them, but will also give you insight into where you are sitting within your own self and how this might be affecting your chances of making a successful connection.
For registered psychologists this workshop will equate to 6 hours of your annual CPD.

Amberley Meredith
B.Sc, M.Sc,
Psychologist
Professional Memberships and Registrations:
Psychology Board of Australia
New Zealand Board of Psychologists
Medicare Provider (Psychologist)
Member of the International Institute of Complimentary Therapists
Amberley has been a registered psychologist since 2003 and she is a published author of the children’s book Bessie Bump and Friends. She has worked in various roles in the health and wellbeing sector for over 20 years, across continents and many cultures, working with individuals and groups in the corporate world, in the public health system and in private practice. Amberley practices a vast array of different therapeutic techniques as she does not hold to the concept that here is one ‘fix’ for everyone. She runs retreats from her home in Noosa, and on location in Australia and in New Zealand.
Amberley’s approach is centred around the belief that humans exist and connect on a physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual level, and that we are affected by both the seen, and sometimes un-recognised universe around us. As we exist in these different ways true healing can only occur when we address the needs and connections of all these levels.
